FINAL Emmy Predictions: Comedy categories

It’s going to be a Schitt-y night at the Emmys for Schitt’s Creek but can they sweep?

We think it’s going to be close to a sweep with Kevin, Amanda and myself all predicting the final season of the cult hit to win Comedy Series, Directing, Lead Actress for Catherine O’Hara and Casting. Kevin and Amanda are all in for Eugene Levy for Lead Actor and Dan Levy for Supporting Actor but I’m thinking the Emmys aren’t going to go that deep into Schitt and that there are other possibilities afoot in those categories.

Kevin and Amanda are in agreement that Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) will three-peat in Supporting Actress, which would tie her with Valerie Harper (The Mary Tyler Moore Show), Rhea Perlman (Cheers), Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne) and Doris Roberts (Everybody Love Raymond) as the only actresses to do so. Roberts was the last, winning from 2001-2003. I’ve made a last-minute switch to Yvonne Orji (Insecure) securing the bag on her first nomination.

Here’s our complete list of predictions in the Comedy categories. Those highlighted in green denote correct predictions, those in red are incorrect.
