Ben Affleck’s fourth film as a director, Live By Night, has a first trailer and poster although, curiously, it’s the UK version and not an official US version that will be attached to Sully this weekend. It carries a 2017 release date and although that is also true for its US release, it seems that Warner Bros is holding on to the possibility of giving the film a December qualifying release for the Oscars.

Based on the book written by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River), and tells the story of the son of a police officer to rises up the ranks of bootleggers during Prohibition to be a high-ranking gangster.

The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Elle Fanning, Sienna Miller, Brendan Gleeson, Scott Eastwood, Chris Cooper, Titus Welliver, Anthony Michael Hall, and Chris Messina. Live by Night opens in theaters on January 13, 2017.
