Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s second film of 2017, the Getty kidnapping drama All the Money in the World.
The film follows the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) to convince his billionaire grandfather (Kevin Spacey) to pay the ransom. When Getty Sr. refuses, Gail attempts to sway him as her son’s captors become increasingly volatile and brutal. With her son’s life in the balance, Gail and Getty’s advisor (Mark Wahlberg) become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.
Scott rushed into production on All the Money in the World just weeks after the release of Alien: Covenant earlier this year and is quickly getting through post-production for an anticipated December 8th release date but just secured the closing night spot at AFI Fest, which runs Novemer 9-16.
All the Money in the World also stars Roman Duris and Timothy Hutton and was written by John Pearson.
