The first trailer for Sony Classics’ Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, Annette Bening’s next best Oscar hope, has arrived (via IMDb).
The four-time Oscar nominated Bening stars as Oscar winning Hollywood screen legend Gloria Grahame, who in her golden years, finds herself in a May-December romance with the young Peter Turner (played by BAFTA winner Jamie Bell). The script is based on Turner’s memoir of the same name. In the trailer, Bening perfectly executes Grahame’s voice, disco dances and sleeps with Jamie Bell. What’s there not to love?
The film also stars Oscar winner Vanessa Redgrave and Oscar nominee Julie Walters. It recently debuted this weekend at the Telluride Film Festival with strong reviews for both Bening and Bell (who could be a stealth Lead or Supporting Actor contender) and is set next for the Toronto Film Festival before its late fall awards date release.
