‘Fleabag,’ ‘Homecoming,’ ‘Succession’ lead 2018-2019 INOCA TV Awards Nominations

Barry, Pose, The Good Place and Russian Doll also score big; The Other Two earns six nominations including Program of the Year

INOCA,  International Online Cinema Awards, has announced its television nominations for the 2018-2019 season and Fleabag, Homecoming and Succession topped the list with 11 nominations apiece. Both Fleabag and Succession were nominated for Program of the Year, where Homecoming was surprisingly snubbed despite its large nomination haul including six for acting.

INOCA is comprised of members of the AwardsWatch community forum. Voters were asked to rank their top 5 choices in every category, with the exception of Program of the Year, where a ranked top 10 was required on a weighted system ballot.

Barry and Pose were next with eight apiece, followed by The Good Place and Russian Doll with 7 each. All four joined Fleabag and Succession for Program of the Year alongside the limited series’ Chernobyl and When They See Us and the comedies GLOW and The Other Two.

There were surprising snubs all around but none more than the shutout of Schitt’s Creek, a show with a large cult fanbase and, in its fifth season, hitting its mainstream stride. Other shocking shutouts included The Deuce, My Brilliant Friend and the final seasons of You’re the Worst and Broad City.

There were ties in two categories – Animated Program and Variety, Comedy or Music Program – which resulted in six nominees each. As the creator of both Killing Eve and Fleabag, Phoebe Waller-Bridge earned 5 nominations, the most for any individual.

HBO was the network leader with 47 nominations, followed by Netflix with 35, Amazon with 28 and FX with 12.
