Georgia Film Critics Association nominations: ‘The Power of the Dog’ and ‘Licorice Pizza’ receive top mentions

The Georgia Film Critics Association (GAFCA) nominations have been announced with Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza leading the way with nine and eight apiece, respectively. Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story was next with seven.

Rounding out the group’s 11th annual Best Picture nominees are: Belfast (4), CODA (5), Flee (4), The Green Knight (5), tick, tick…BOOM! (2) and The Worst Person in the World (2).

The Oglethorpe Award for Excellence in Georgia Cinema is given to a feature film or short film that was produced in Georgia. This year’s nominees include Black Widow, Copshop, Respect and The Suicide Squad.
