After earning six nominations from the Online Film Critics Society earlier this month, Get Out has emerged as the group’s Best Picture of 2017, also grabbing the Original Screenplay prize for Jordan Peele and a runner-up in Best Director (also Peele), Best Actor and Best Breakthrough (both Daniel Kaluuya).
Dunkirk won two of its four nominations, Best Director for Christopher Nolan and Best Editing for Lee Smith. Nomination leader The Shape of Water settled for a single win (Sally Hawkins for Best Actress) and a pair of runner-up placements (in Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor – Richard Jenkins).
Last year the group went for Moonlight in Best Picture, Director and both supporting categories. This year, no film won more than two awards. Call Me By Your Name and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri were other double winners today.
