Get Out, Wonder Woman, The Florida Project Among 2017 American Film Institute (AFI) Top 10 films

American Film Institute’s top 10 films of 2017 are Get Out, The Post, Lady Bird, Dunkirk, Wonder Woman, The Shape of Water, The Big Sick, Call Me By Your Name, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Florida Project.

Probably one of the more predictable groups that announces a top 10 and always one of a handful that helps guide us to the eventual Oscar nominees. It’s very likely that 6-8 from that list will be Best Picture-nominated.

Last year, the group’s top 10 contained seven of Oscar’s eventual nine Best Picture nominees and gave us our first glimpse that Hacksaw Ridge would end up a top contender. This year has very little in the way of surprises. Some may feel Wonder Woman is but it’s one of the biggest success stories of the year and its place here is solid.

Here is a list of films that have made the Top 10s for Critics Choice (BFCA), the National Board of Review (NBR), and the American Film Institute (AFI) since the Best Picture expansion (Best Picture nominees in bold, winners have an asterisk):
