Gotham Awards announce key dates for 2021 season

The Gotham Film & Media Institute (formerly IFP), announced today that the 31st annual Gotham Awards will take place on Monday, November 29, 2021.  The first ceremony of the film awards season, The Gotham Awards is one of the leading honors for independent film and television, providing critical early recognition to groundbreaking independent films and television series and their writers, directors, producers, and actors.  The event will be held at Cipriani Wall Street.

Films released March 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021 and television series released October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021 will be eligible.  Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, September 15, 2021, with nominations announced on Thursday, October 21, 2021.  Further information regarding The Gotham Awards will be announced in coming months. 

Last year’s winners included Nomadland for Best Feature, Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal) for Best Actor and Nicole Beharie (Miss Juneteenth) for Best Actress.
