The 18th AARP Movies for Grownups Awards were handed out last night and nomination leader Green Book came out on top as the Best Picture/Movie for Grownups. Viggo Mortensen also won Best Actor for his role in the film.
Can You Ever Forgive Me? was also a double winner: Best Supporting Actor for Richard E. Grant and Best Screenwriter for Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty.
Spike Lee won Best Director for BlacKkKlansman, Glenn Close (The Wife) picked up another win in Best Actress and a surprise win came in Best Supporting Actress for Judi Dench (All Is True). If Beale Street Could Talk won the group’s Time Capsule award, its only nomination.
Shirley MacLaine was the recipient of the Career Achievement Award. The show will be broadcast on PBS February 15th at 9pm PST.
