Triple was the buzz word of the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards where Hans Zimmer won three awards, nomination leader Emilia Pérez won three and Diane Warren won the top song award for “The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight at the ceremony held at The Avalon in Hollywood, CA.

Double Oscar winner and 12-time nominee Hans Zimmer won trophies for his scores for Dune: Part Two (in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy musical score category), Planet Earth III, and Love Will Survive in the documentary and limited series categories, respectively.

Zoe Saldaña’s musical number “El Mal” in Emilia Pérez won the Best On-Screen Performance award, and the film’s title score won in the Score – Feature Film category for composers-songwriters Clément Ducol & Camille. The film’s third win came in the Music-Themed Film, Biopic, or Musical category.

15-time Academy Award nominee Diane Warren (and recipient of an Honorary Oscar), a 12-time HMMA nominee and four-time winner (plus a Lifetime Achievement Award) toppled two songs from Emilia Pérez, as well as songs from Challengers, Blitz and more to earn her fifth HMMA award.

Other songwriter winners included Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt (“Never Too Late” from Elton John: Never Too Late); and Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt (“Beautiful That Way” from The Last Showgirl).

The Wild Robot was a double winner, taking score and song (“Kiss the Sky”) wins for animated film and Deadpool & Wolverine nabbed two, for soundtrack and music supervision.

Legendary lyricist Bernie Taupin was also presented with the prestigious HMMA Outstanding Career Achievement Award.
