Hollywood Music in Media winners: ‘News of the World,’ ‘Minari,’ ‘Euphoria,’ ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ and more

Winners for the 11th Hollywood Music in Media (HMMA) awards were announced virtually on Wednesday and the scores for the films News of the World (James Newton Howard), Minari (Emile Mosseri), Soul (Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste), Tenet (Ludwig Göransson) and The Invisible Man (Benjamin Wallfisch) were honored.

The HMMA breaks down their score and song categories by genre, allowing for winners in big budget, independent, animated, sci-fi and documentary film. The songs “Io Si (Seen)” from The Life Ahead and “Everybody Cries” from The Outpost were among the film winners.

In television, “All For Us” from Euphoria followed up its Emmy win with a win here and the scores for The Queen’s Gambit, Belushi and Hollywood were recognized.

For the virtual webcast, performers included Lifetime Achievement winner Kenny Loggins, singing “I’m Alright,” Kris Bowers and Andra Day doing Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable” and Starr Parodi performing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
