Actor Chris Sullivan is back in the Emmy game with his second career nomination for playing Toby on This Is Us. Now that the show’s next season, its sixth, has been revealed to be its last, arcs are becoming clearer for all the characters, which included a startling revelation regarding Toby in the season 5 finale.

We had the chance to speak with this kind, genuine actor who really does remind us of the character he plays about that unexpected twist, incorporating the pandemic into the show, and his admiration for the other actors on the series. Beware serious spoilers for the season 5 finale.

Chris Sullivan is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and has submitted the episode “In the Room” for Emmy consideration.
