Everything’s coming up Nicole Byer.
The host of Netflix’s “Nailed It!” recently became the first Black woman to be nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program at the Primetime Emmys. Now she’s hosting the first-ever virtual, five-night Creative Arts Emmys, starting September 14th.
Byer will act as master of ceremonies for all five nights of the Creative Arts festivities, the first four streaming on Emmys.com and Saturday night’s show broadcast on FXX.
“Nailed It!,” which is also nominated for Outstanding Competition Program, completed its fourth season earlier this year. The show, which features amateur bakers attempting to recreate professional works of pastry marvel, has established itself as one of Netflix’s most beloved, charming originals, in large part to Byer’s infectious presence.
Byer chatted with Daniel Trainor about competing against RuPaul, her love of “90 Day Fiance,” what TV shows she’d love to guest star on and what to expect from the Creative Arts Emmys.
