Interview: Joe Taslim discusses ‘Mortal Kombat’ and Season 3 of ‘Warrior’

Joe Taslim is the type of actor who brings someone to pause when they see him. He’s certainly recognizable but it’s hard at first to pinpoint where you’ve seen him before.

It’s an understandable reaction because Taslim’s resume is so diverse. Some might remember him from Fast & Furious 6 when he played Jan and had a fantastic fight sequence with Roman (Tyrese Gibson) and Han (Sung Kang). Others might recognize him as Manas from Star Trek Beyond. Most recently he has been gaining quite a following for his portrayal of Li Yong in the HBO Max show Warrior. His latest project, Mortal Kombat, which was released in theaters and on HBO Max April 23, has Taslim playing the iconic villain Sub-Zero.

We were very lucky to have a few moments with him and we discussed the toughest sequences he had while filming the reboot and got news on where season 3 of Warrior stands.
