Interview: Matt Rogers on ‘Haute Dog’ and how reality television has embraced kindness [VIDEO]

Share

Move over, bitches, there’s a new reality TV king in town.

Matt Rogers, creator of Quibi’s Gayme Show and co-host of the podcast Las Culturistas, is the master of ceremonies for HBO Max’s new dog grooming competition show Haute Dog. Rogers, joined by guest judges Robin Thede and dog grooming icon Jess Rona, guides three groomers through challenges of talent and finesse, ultimately culminating with a $10,000 cash prize for the winner.

Rogers, who holds things down with the charm and flare of a pure natural, spoke with Daniel Trainor and Sam Stone about the process of filming the show, taking inspiration from RuPaul, Real Housewives of Potomac and, to wrap things up, the boys play the inaugural version of soon-to-be iconic game Haute or Not: Dogs of History

All six episodes of Haute Dog are available to stream on HBO Max now.
