Wagner Moura may forever be associated with his incredible performance as Pablo Escobar in the first two seasons of Netflix’s Narcos. But the actor is back on television in a remarkably different role, one that finds him navigating a constantly changing reality opposite Elisabeth Moss in Shining Girls on Apple TV+.

We had the chance to speak with Moura about the appeal of the series, acting with Moss, and the way in which journalism has become increasingly relevant in our society. We also talked about Narcos and the film Sergio, which Moura premiered in person at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and later made its debut on Netflix.

Season one of Shining Girls is currently available to stream on Apple TV+. Wagner Moura is Emmy eligible for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
