Interview: Zack and Deborah Snyder discuss ‘Army of the Dead’ and, of course, zombie tigers
Very few would argue that no director has dominated the landscape of pop culture recently like Zack Snyder. The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut sparked a movement that impacted the decision-making of a major studio, inspired writers to write books about it and directly impacted the DC Universe for the foreseeable future.
Snyder’s filmmaking has inspired a generation of fans who fell in love with his visual and very visceral style of filmmaking as early as 2004 with the release of Dawn of the Dead. Snyder’s latest film, the zombie apocalypse Army of the Dead, is a follow up to that 2004 classic, and is set to have a limited theatrical run starting Friday, followed by a release on Netflix on May 21st.
We spoke briefly to both Zack and Deborah Snyder, who is a producer on this and many of his other films. We talked about what their favorite scenes in the film might be, whether or not Deborah has to tone down Zack from time to time, and of course, about zombie tigers.
