The Costume Designers Guild, which breaks its nominees to groupings like Contemporary, Period and Fantasy, has given us a truly wide array of films and recognize a handful of underseen and underrated movies. The Dressmaker found a place among Hail, Caesar! and Jackie in the Period Film section. Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie sits alongside La La Land and Nocturnal Animals. And, in one of the most inspired nominations, Kubo and the Two Strings is nominated in the Fantasy Film category with superhero films.

The 19th Costume Designers Guild Awards are set for February 21, 2017 and will be hosted by Mandy Moore.
