“There are periods in history that scar societies and moments in life that transform us as individuals.”
Academy Award-winning director Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity) took to Twitter to reveal the first look at his highly anticipated film, Roma, his first in five years.
Shot in incredibly evocative black & white we see a water-soaked floor. The sounds of cleaning and scrubbing then a rush of water. Titles appear in yellow and then disappear with the water. A plane flies over. Simple, but gorgeous and tantalizing.
Roma will play the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals and is the Centerpiece of the New York Film Festival. It will be released theatrically by Netflix on December 14th.
