Making its World Premiere as the Opening Night Film of the Cannes Film Festival on July 6, Annette is the first English-language film from director Leos Carax (Holy Motors), with music by Sparks’ Ron and Russell Mael and based on their original story.  Following Amazon Studios’ debut of the U.S. trailer this week (WATCH HERE), Milan Records today released “We Love Each Other So Much,” a new track from the musical love story.  Written by Sparks, the stirringly romantic track features a duet between the film’s stars Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard.

In Los Angeles, Henry (Adam Driver) is a stand-up comedian with a fierce sense of humor who falls in love with Ann (Marion Cotillard), a world-renowned opera singer. Under the spotlight, they form a passionate and glamorous couple. With the birth of their first child, Annette, a mysterious little girl with an exceptional destiny, their lives are turned upside down. A film by visionary director Leos Carax, with story & music by Ron & Russell Mael of Sparks, this original musical is a journey of love, passion & fame.

Amazon Studios will release Annette in theaters on Friday, August 6 and on Amazon Prime Video Friday, August 20.  The new track follows the debut last month of the lead single “So May We Start,” an ensemble number performed by Sparks, Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard and Simon Helberg, with lyrics by Sparks and Leos Carax.

With a career spanning over five decades and 25 albums, Sparks is recognized as a groundbreaking pioneer in pop music and contemporary songwriting. Yet another reminder of their everlasting influence and innovation, the story of Annette, originally intended to be a Sparks studio album, was developed with director Leos Carax after a meeting at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.  The final soundtrack collection features lyrics co-written by Sparks and Leos Carax, performed by Sparks and the cast of Annette and produced by Sparks.
