A Star Is Born isn’t out for another week but the full single and video for “Shallow,” the film’s sure-fire Original Song Oscar contender is here.

Tracklist for ‘A Star Is Born’ reveals 17 original songs

You’ve all heard bits of this from the film’s trailer but the video gives a bit more context into Ally (played by Lady Gaga) summoning the courage to go out on stage and belt out the tune with Jack (Bradley Cooper) for the first time ever. It shows us just how good Gaga is in this movie; not simply as a singer (the song is a complete scorcher) but watching her Ally go through the motions of shock and awe that she’s performing (the hands over her face) and feeding off the response of the crowd.

A Star Is Born world premiered at the Venice Film Festival and then hit Toronto, both to universal praise.

Review: Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in ‘A Star Is Born’ (★★★★)

Oscar nominations are assured for the film, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress but “Shallow” is absolutely going to be the song to beat in the Oscar race this year.

The full soundtrack will be released on Friday, October 5th to coincide with the worldwide release of the film from Warner Bros.

Here is your first look and listen at “Shallow,” written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt and performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
