Maestro, Barbie, Saltburn, Killers of the Flower Moon, Asteroid City and Oppenheimer are among the films nominated today for excellence by the Art Directors Guild (IATSE Local 800).

The ADG divides live-action feature film into three categories. For period feature film the nominees are Asteroid City, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Napoleon and Oppenheimer.

For fantasy film, Barbie, The Creator, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Poor Things and Wonka were the nominees.

In contemporary feature, Beau is Afraid, John Wick: Chapter 4, The Killer, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Saltburn were nominated.

“It’s our honor and privilege to gather the guild to recognize the excellence among our members,” says award show producers Michael Allen Glover, ADG and Megan Elizabeth Bell, ADG in a joint statement.

Notable misses include The Color Purple (which also missed the costume guild and the hair and makeup Oscar shortlist), The Holdovers and American Fiction. Last year the group honored Babylon, Everything Everywhere All At Once and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery but the Oscars went for All Quiet on the Western Front.

As previously announced, legendary production designer Lawrence G. Paull will be inducted into the ADG Hall of Fame as part of the ceremony.

The 28th Art Directors Guild (ADG) awards will be held at a ceremony on February 10 at Ovation Hollywood’s Ray Dolby Ballroom and hosted by Max Greenfield. Here is the complete list of nominations.
