Ex-Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello, who broke off from the girl group to go solo, grabbed the two biggest awards at the  2018 MTV Video Music Awards tonight – Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. 20-time VMA winner Madonna gave Cabello the Video of the Year award for “Havana” ft. Young Thug.

Early in the night, presenter Tiffany Haddish threw some shade at Cabello’s former bandmates only to have Nicki Minaj clap back during her speech for winning Best Hip-Hop Video for “Chun Li.”

Childish Gambino, the musical alter ego of Donald Glover, was the biggest winner of the night with three, including Video with a Message for “This Is America,” which was accepted by Sherrie Silver, who won for Best Choreography.

Performances were the talk of the night, including Shawn Mendes performing “In My Blood” in a rainstorm that left fans on social media more than a little bit wet themselves.
