Fresh off the stellar first reactions at a screening earlier this week, Lionsgate has dropped a fresh new trailer for Bombshell, set to Billie Eilish’s #1 hit “bad guy.”

Bombshell tells the story of the explosive scandal within Fox News and its creator Roger Ailes (Academy Award nominee John Lithgow) when two of the networks most stalwart and loyal anchors Megyn Kelly (Academy Award winner Charlize Theron) and Gretchen Carlson (Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman) team up with newcomer Kayla (a fictional composite character played by Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie) to expose the rampant sexual harassment and misconduct within the network that led to Roger Ailes resigning in 2016.

The film co-stars Emmy-Award winner Kate McKinnon, Connie Britton, Emmy-Award winner Mark Duplass, Rob Delaney, with Malcolm McDowell as Rupert Murdoch, Alanna Ubach as Jeanine Pirro, Spencer Garrett as Sean Hannity, Michael Buie as Bret Baier, P.J. Byrne as Neil Cavuto Richard Kind as Rudy Giuliani and Academy Award-winner Allison Janney. It is directed by Jay Roach (Recount) and written by Academy Award winner Charles Randolph (The Big Short).

Lionsgate will release Bombshell on December 20. Here’s the wild new trailer and first poster.

Erik Anderson is the founder/owner and Editor-in-Chief of AwardsWatch and has always loved all things Oscar, having watched the Academy Awards since he was in single digits; making lists, rankings and predictions throughout the show. This led him down the path to obsessing about awards. Much later, he found himself in film school and the film forums of GoldDerby, and then migrated over to the former Oscarwatch (now AwardsDaily), before breaking off to create AwardsWatch in 2013. He is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic, accredited by the Cannes Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and more, is a member of the International Cinephile Society (ICS), The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics (GALECA), Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) and the International Press Academy. Among his many achieved goals with AwardsWatch, he has given a platform to underrepresented writers and critics and supplied them with access to film festivals and the industry and calls the Bay Area his home where he lives with his husband and son.
