“Sending me away from the summer, what a cliché.”
A bit on the nose, sure, but who isn’t going to welcome Timothée Chalamet in another summer coming-of-age story? The Oscar nominee (Call Me By Your Name) will hit your movie screens this summer in the comedy-drama Hot Summer Nights set in 1991 Cape Cod.
Part Boogie Nights, part Last American Virgin, Chalamet plays an awkward teen who falls into a pot-selling scheme and falls in love in the process. The film co-stars Maika Monroe, Emory Cohen, Maia Mitchell, William Fichtner, Thomas Jane and Alex Roe. It’s written and directed by Elijah Bynum.
Here is the first trailer and a slew of posters. DirecTV Cinema will release Hot Summer Nights exclusively on June 28th before A24 (Moonlight, Lady Bird, The Disaster Artist, The Florida Project, The Witch, Ex Machina & more) releases it theatrically on July 27th.
