Peter Dinklage has a song in his heart in musical adaptation of ‘Cyrano’ [Trailer]

MGM has released the first trailer for Cyrano, a musical re-imagining of the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle from award-winning director Joe Wright (Atonement, Darkest Hour).

A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac (Emmy winner Peter Dinklage) dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his diminutive nature renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her — and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.). All while fighting off the advances and cruelty of the dastardly De Guiche (Emmy winner Ben Mendelsohn).

Cyrano is based on the stage musical adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt, from “Cyrano de Bergerac” by Edmond Rostand, with original music by Aaron & Bryce Dessner and lyrics by Matt Berninger & Carin Besser. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Guy Heeley produce for Working Title and is executive produced by Erica Schmidt, Sarah-Jane Robinson, Sheeraz Shah, Lucas Webb, Matt Berninger, Carin Besser and Aaron Dessner.

MGM and United Artists in association with BRON Creative will release Cyrano in select theaters on December 31.
