In what is purportedly his last film, Oscar-winner Robert Redford (Best Director – Ordinary People) stars in The Old Man & the Gun, the “mostly true” story of bank robber Forrest Tucker. From his audacious escape from San Quentin at the age of 70 to an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities, Tucker enchanted the public. Director David Lowery (A Ghost Story)
Wrapped up in the pursuit are detective John Hunt (Oscar winner Casey Affleck – Manchester by the Sea), who becomes captivated with Forrest’s commitment to his craft, and a woman (Oscar winner Sissy Spacek – Coal Miner’s Daughter), who loves him in spite of his chosen profession.
Rounding out this exceptional cast are Oscar winner Keith Carradine (Nashville), Danny Glover (the Lethal Weapon series), Tika Sumpter (Southside with You), John David Washington (the upcoming BlacKkKlansman) and Grammy-winning music legend and Oscar nominee Tom Waits.
Fox Searchlight will release The Old Man & the Gun in select theaters on September 28th, 2018.
