Ryan Gosling and Damien Chazelle leave L.A. behind for space in the trailer for ‘First Man’
Two-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling (Half Nelson, La La Land) reunites with Oscar-winning La La Land director Damien Chazelle in the first trailer for one of the most anticipated films of the year, First Man.
First Man details the riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen (and adapted by Oscar winner Josh Singer), the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost-on Armstrong and on the nation-of one of the most dangerous missions in history.
Two years ago, La La Land earned a record-tying 14 Oscar nominations and won six, including Chazelle for Best Director who, at 32, became the youngest ever to win. Can the duo strike gold once again?
First Man is a co-production of Universal and Dreamworks and co-stars Claire Foy (The Crown, the upcoming The Girl in the Spider’s Web), Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Patrick Fugit, Ciaran Hinds, Ethan Embry, Shea Whigham, Corey Stoll, and Pablo Schreiber . Universal will release the action drama to theaters on October 12th, 2018.
