The 2018 San Francisco Film Critics Circle have announced their nominations and the city by the Bay is in love with The Favourite, giving the wickedly funny queen saga 9 nominations, including three acting mentions for the film’s trifecta of actresses Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz.
Next up was Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma is out in front with 8 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress for newcomer Yalitza Aparicio and Barry Jenkins’ If Beale Street Could Talk with 7.
BlacKkKlansman and First Reformed round out the Best Picture nominees and the group found room for mentions like Regina Hall in Best Actress for Support the Girls, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie in Supporting Actress for Leave No Trace and Russell Hornsby and Michael B. Jordan in Supporting Actor for The Hate U Give and Black Panther, respectively.
Winners will be announced this Sunday, December 9th.
