Sandra Bullock must fight an unseen fear in ‘Bird Box’ trailer

“Don’t ever take off your blindfold.”
Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) stars in first trailer for the dystopian thriller Bird Box, from the novel by Josh Malerman, where forces invade the planet in the form of your worst fear and what you see can kill you.
Following a similar path as films like The Happening and The Road, Bird Box plays with sight the way that A Quiet Place did with hearing earlier this year, forcing its characters (and the audience) to rely on other senses to get them to safety.
Official synopsis:
When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded.
Bird Box is directed by Susanne Bier (the Academy Award-winning In a Better World), produced by Dylan Clark, Chris Morgan, Clayton Townsend, and written by Academy Award nominee Eric Heisserer. It co-stars Trevante Rhodes, Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar, Danielle Macdonald, Lil Rel Howery, Tom Hollander, Colson Baker, BD Wong, with Sarah Paulson, and Academy Award nominee John Malkovich.
Bird Box will have its world premiere at AFI FEST in November and then be available on Netflix and in select theaters December 21st.
