A huge hit at Sundance and the feature film debut from writer/director Boots Riley, Sorry to Bother You offers you an alternate present-day version of Oakland, CA where a telemarketer discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a macabre universe.
Sorry to Bother You boasts a killer cast that includes Lakeith Stanfield (Get Out) Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Armie Hammer (Call Me By Your Name) and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead).
Stanfield stars as Cassius “Cash” Green, a telemarketer who realizes he can speak with a “white voice” (played by David Cross). Cassius uses this newfound power to climb the corporate ladder (where he meets up with Hammer’s coke-snorting CEO), much to the chagrin of his activist girlfriend Detroit (Thompson).
Sorry to Bother You can next be seen at the San Francisco International Film Festival in April and then Annapurna will release it in select theaters on July 6 and then wide on July 27th. Here is the first trailer and posters.
