The trailer and poster for Jason Bateman’s sophomore directing effort The Family Fang is here. The film, based on the novel of the same name by Kevin Wilson and adapted by David Lindsay-Abaire, centers around a brother and sister who return to their family home in search of their famous performance art parents (played by Christopher Walken and Maryann Plunkett) who have disappeared. With a thread of dark humor running through it there is a sense of The Royal Tenenbaums in this dysfunctional family dramedy.
The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and hits theaters April 29th from Starz Digital Media. It shows at the 59th San Francisco International Film Festival a day later.
