The Oscars Set March Dates for 99th and 100th Academy Awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and ABC today announced the dates for the next two Oscars, rounding out to the Academy’s centennial celebration and the last to air on ABC and take place at the Dolby Theatre.
The 99th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 14, 2027, and the 100th Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2028. The shows will air live at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
The following year, beginning with the 101st edition, the Oscars will move from broadcast television for the first time ever to YouTube while also picking up from their current location of the 3000-seat Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to the 7000-seat Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, where it will host until at least 2039.
This year’s Oscars telecast, where Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another won Best Picture, drew 17.86 million viewers across ABC and Hulu, a 9% decline from last year’s 19.7 million viewers, which had been a five-year high for the ceremony in the post-pandemic era of the show.

Oscars shortlists announcement: Tuesday, December 15, 2026
Eligibility period ends: Thursday, December 31, 2026
Nominations voting begins (9 a.m. PT): Monday, January 11, 2027
