The animated Disney classic Dumbo is getting a live-action makeover from Oscar-nominated director Tim Burton and features a cast of some of his more famous talent from his most famous films, including Michael Keaton (Batman, Batman Returns, Beetlejuice) and Danny DeVito (Batman Returns).
Burton’s reimagining of Dumbo loosely adapts the from animated original and features Colin Farrell as a soldier and former movie star Holt Farrier who, with his two young children, are employed by circus owner and carnival barker Max Medici (Danny DeVito) to care for the new, floppy-eared member of the circus family. Once they discover Dumbo can fly, they catch the eye of entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Oscar nominee Michael Keaton) and spectacular aerial artist Colette Marchant (Eva Green).
The 1941 animated Dumbo won an Oscar® for best scoring of a musical picture and was nominated for best original song for “Baby Mine.” A new version of the song is heard in the trailer and performed by Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora. Burton directs from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger. The film is produced by Justin Springer, Ehren Kruger, Katterli Frauenfelder, and Derek Frey.
