Timothée Chalamet’s ‘Beautiful Boy’ Gets Fall Awards Release Date from Amazon
Timothée Chalamet, the Oscar-nominated star of Call Me By Your Name, will be seen this fall in Beautiful Boy from Amazon Studios. The streamer has set October 12th for the film’s limited release kickoff.
The film is based on a pair of father and son memoirs (“Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction” and “Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines”), David (played by Oscar nominee Steve Carell) and Nic Sheff (Chalamet), which chronicles meth addiction and recovery through the eyes of a father who watches his son as he struggles with the disease. The film also stars Maura Tierney, Amy Ryan and Timothy Hutton.
Beautiful Boy is directed by Felix van Groeningen (the Oscar-nominated The Broken Circle Breakdown) with a script from Groeningen and Luke Davies (Lion). It’s produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner aka Plan B, the Oscar-winning team behind 12 Years a Slave and Moonlight.
