After a career high of Chicago in 2002 and her Oscar-winning turn in Cold Mountain in 2003, Renée Zellweger seemed poised to take over the world but it didn’t turn out that way. A string of flops (with the exception of voice work in the animated films Shark Tale and Monsters vs. Aliens) over the next seven years pushed her into seclusion and away from making movies in 2010.
Now, in 2016, she’s back. With three projects due for release and none more anticipated than the return to her most beloved character, Bridget Jones. It’s been 12 years since we last saw Bridget and the new film sees her still with wavering self-confidence and on the lonely side but now entering her 40s with the return of Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and trading in Hugh Grant for new suitor Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) and a new baby bump.
But, who’s the father?
Bridget Jones’s Baby is due from Universal Pictures on September 16th, 2016.
