TRAILER: Cate Blanchett Gives Joan Crawford Realness in Live-Action ‘Cinderella’ (2015)

Swooping down today with nothing less than a trailer, a poster and a glorious set of production stills and shots from Annie Leibovitz featuring Oscar-winner Sandy Powell’s costumes is Disney’s live-action remake of Cinderella, starring Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine (intensely channeling Joan Crawford), Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother and Downton Abbey‘s Lily James as the titular character. No doubt hoping that the Christmas release of Into the Woods is big for Disney, Cinderella aims to piggyback on that hopeful success as it will debut near the end of the former’s theatrical run. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing) and will arrive in theaters on March 13, 2015.
