Here it is, the final trailer for the Disney musical adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, Into the Woods.

The film, directed by Rob Marshall, stars Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick and Johnny Depp. It opens Christmas Day.

And just to add some Oscar trivia to this, former Gold Rush Gang member Dennis compiled a quick list of recent musicals and their tech nominations. Bolded categories indicate a win.

Obviously Sound Mixing is historically one of the more favored areas for musicals to thrive but Costumes and Production Design see the most noms and wins. There’s also the curious case of The Producers (2005). Here was the Tony-winningest musical of all time, coming to the big screen, four Golden Globe nominations in tow and…nothing. Not a single Oscar nomination. Ironic, since the 1968 non-musical version the Broadway musical (and film) was based on was an Oscar winner.
