TRAILER: Jason Reitman’s ‘Men, Women & Children’ is the Millennial ‘American Beauty’ with Ansel Elgort

I credit that comparison in the title from our contributor (and Emmy Expert) Jonathan and I’d say it’s pretty apt. Jason Reitman’s new film, Men, Women & Children is an exploration of modern day culture in the social media age. The film might as well have been called A/S/L with its pop-up chats on the screen detailing elements of sexuality, self-worth and infidelity via Facebook, Snapchat, instant message and the like. The film stars Adam Sandler (in another effort to be taken seriously as an actor, I suppose), Rosemarie DeWitt (TV’s The United States of Tara), Jennifer Garner (Dallas Buyers Club), Ansel Elgort (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars), Kaitlyn Dever (TV’s Justified) and Judy Greer (The Descendants).

The multi-Oscar nominated Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) co-wrote the script with Erin Cressida Wilson based on the book by Chad Kultgen and will be released by Paramount Pictures in October.

This is the first teaser.

  • The trailer is good, but I'm afraid it's going to have little impact at the theaters, unless I'm underestimating the pull of Elgort.
