Trailer: Kelvin Harrison Jr. is labeled a ‘Monster’

“Should one moment define my life?”
Monster tells the story of Steve Harmon (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) a seventeen-year-old honor student whose world comes crashing down around him when he is charged with felony murder. The film follows his dramatic journey from a smart, likeable film student from Harlem attending an elite high school through a complex legal battle that could leave him spending the rest of his life in prison.
Monster is directed by Anthony Mandler and written by Radha Blank from the acclaimed novel by Walter Dean Myers. It co-stars Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson, Emmy Award winners Jeffrey Wright and Jharrel Jerome plus Jennifer Ehle, Rakim Mayers, Nasir ‘Nas’ Jones, Tim Blake Nelson and John David Washington. It is produced by Tonya Lewis Lee, Nikki Silver, Aaron L. Gilbert, Mike Jackson and Edward Tyler Nahem and executive produced by John Legend, Jeffrey Wright and Nasir ‘Nas’ Jones.
Netflix will release the film on May 7. Here is the trailer.
