Ridley Scott goes back to space in the new drama The Martian, starring Matt Damon and based on the best-selling book of the same name.
Damon plays astronaut Mark Watney who is left behind after a Mars mission is aborted and presumed dead. Only thing is he’s not. He wakes up after the brutal storm that forced his crew to abandon him and now must fend for himself for four years (the time it would take to get a mission back to Mars to save him) with just 31 days of food.
From the trailer it looks like it could be a deft blend of Interstellar, Gravity and Moon if it plays its cards right.
The film also stars Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristin Wiig, Kate Mara and Donald Glover and will be released by 20th Century Fox. It opens November 25th.
