After a bit of rubber stamping, the Utah Film Critics came out with the wildest wins of the season so far. None more so than their Best Picture winner Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The animated film also won the group’s Adapted Screenplay award and, of course, Animated Feature.
The group’s acting wins also took a unique spin with Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade) winning Best Actress, Hugh Grant (Paddington 2) and Russell Hornsby (The Hate U Give) tied for Supporting Actor and Olivia Colman (The Favourite) taking Supporting Actress. She has been positioned in lead by Fox Searchlight and has already picked up some Best Actress critics’ wins but Utah thought she belonged in the supporting category (she does).
