Watch Emma Corrin sing “All I Ask of You” from deleted scene of ‘The Crown’

In the ninth episode of the fourth season of The Crown, “Avalanche,” Diana (played by Emmy nominee Emma Corrin) shows Charles a recording of herself performing one of The Phantom of the Opera’s most iconic songs, “All I Ask Of You” for their seventh wedding anniversary in 1988. When our brilliant research team led by Annie Sulzberger looked into this detail she found that it was unclear whether Diana danced or sang the song for Charles, although it was widely reported that she had taped the piece at the West End. This exclusive clip is an interpretation of that moment from The Crown.

Corrin previously revealed that her impromptu performance of “All I Ask of You” in her audition may have been pivotal in her getting the role. When discussing the storyline with The Crown show creator, Peter Morgan, she told him that she loved the song, “All I Ask of You,” and was promptly asked to perform it. She sang to a karaoke track with the show’s casting director and later found out that the producers were genuinely surprised, and impressed, she had done it there and then.

The Crown Season 4 is nominated for 24 Emmys, including Best Drama and Emma Corrin for Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
