The world premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s 9th film, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood is happening at the Cannes Film Festival today and just ahead of that comes a brand new trailer that gives us an eye and an earful of what’s in store on the Croisette.

The 1969-set film merges fiction and non-fiction as it tells the story of a famed actor named Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stuntman Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) as they cross paths with Sharon Tate (played by Margot Robbie) and the Charles Manson clan.

Earlier this week, Tarantino sent out a plea, writing an open letter encouraging critics at Cannes not to spoil any details about the film following its May 21st world premiere. “I love cinema. You love cinema. It’s the journey of discovering a story for the first time,” he wrote. “I’m thrilled to be here in Cannes to share ‘Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood’ with the festival audience. The cast and crew have worked so hard to create something original, and I only ask that everyone avoids revealing anything that would prevent later audiences from experiencing the film in the same way.”

Joining DiCaprio, Pitt and Robbie in the film are Timothy Olyphant, Dakota Fanning, Margaret Qualley, Luke Perry (in his final film), Al Pacino and many more.

Sony Pictures/Columbia will release Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood on July 26th. Watch the new trailer below.
