Focus Features has dropped three clips from the upcoming Spike Lee joint BlacKkKlansman and I’ve got them here for you.

BlacKkKlansman tells the 1970s era true story of Ron Stallworth (John David Washington),the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime. Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream. Produced by the team behind the Academy-Award® winning Get Out, including Academy Award winner Jordan Peele and Jason Blum. The film won the Grand Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes Review: ‘BlacKkKlansman’ is Spike Lee’s best film in over a decade

In the first clip, “America First,” Topher Grace as KKK Grand Wizard espouses white supremacy’s most famous credo, ‘America First,’ which we’ve heard directly from the current president’s mouth in an effort to work up his rabid fan base. “Today we are privileged to be among white men, and white women, such as yourselves,” Duke says, toasting with a glass of champagne.

In the next clip, “The President,” Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) flirts with Black Student Union President Patrice Dumas (Laura Harrier) before a speech from Brother Kwame Ture (formerly known as Stokely Carmichael) in Colorado Springs, CO.

The third clip features Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver) and Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) arguing the virtues of the job versus the crusade and Zimmerman’s ability to “pass” even though he’s hit with anti-semitic discrimination from local rednecks and Klan members.

Focus Features will release BlacKkKlansman nationwide on August 10th. Follow my Oscar predictions for the film here.
