Paramount has released the second official trailer for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming The Wolf of Wall Street. While this is exciting in its own right, what’s even more exciting for those who follow the Oscar race is that now, finally, Paramount has released a statement that, yes, this film will be released in 2013 (on Christmas Day, to be precise), so it will be eligible for the Oscars this season. Time to rearrange your predictions!
The tone of the trailer looks darkly comedic to you? Well, in an interesting move, the studio has also decided to push this film in the Comedy/Musical category at the Golden Globes, so you may not be far off. Oddly enough, they are also pushing their other horse, Alexander Payne’s Nebraska, in the same category. Food for thought.
