TRAILER: Carey Mulligan is an Oscar Player in ‘Suffragette’
The trailer for Sarah Gavron’s Suffragette from Focus Features is here and it looks to be a major Oscar player this year. Inspired by real events, Mulligan plays Maud, a working wife and mother who is recruited by the women’s suffragette movement in the U.K. Meryl Streep plays Emmeline Pankhurst, the leader of the women’s rebellion and the film also co-stars Helena Bonham Carter, Brendan Gleeson and Anne-Marie Duff. The film opens the BFI London Film Festival and opens October 23rd.
