Just a few changes in Adapted Screenplay predictions from last month, with the top four remaining in place although Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk inches up one point on Silence. Lion enters the top 5 as War Machine drops to #8 (its stock has dropped virtually everywhere) and we have two new additions; Wilson at #7 and Nocturnal Animals at #9.

Right now, Silence, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and Fences seem very safe with the last two spots up for grabs. Although Lion, Sully and Wilson feel like they could cover those two slots it’s only June so something from the Other Contenders section like The Founder, Hidden Figures or The Girl on the Train could surprise if any of those also find themselves in other Oscar categories.

Here are the June Oscar predictions for Best Adapted Screenplay from The Gold Rush Gang:

OTHER CONTENDERS
The Founder
The Girl on the Train
Hidden Figures
The Light Between Oceans
The Secret Scripture
Tulip Fever
The Yellow Birds
The Zookeeper’s Wife

The top 7 vote getters this month are the same as last month with only The Birth of a Nation and La La Land switching spots. But, The Birth of a Nation also gains in points where La La Land loses. Café Society, while remaining in the #6 position, also gains two points in vote rankings.

At this early stage it’s probably only safe to call Loving and Manchester by the Sea safe bets, with Moonlight and The Birth of a Nation just behind. The rest is wide open and we could see the writers of The Academy go crazy for the arthouse hit The Lobster or the inevitable blockbuster that should be Passengers. I wouldn’t count out the star-studded dramedy Collateral Beauty as a possible spoiler either.

Here are the June Oscar predictions for Best Original Screenplay from The Gold Rush Gang:

OTHER CONTENDERS
20th Century Women
Allied
Bleed For This
Collateral Beauty
Everybody Wants Some!!
LBJ
Miss Sloane
Passengers
Personal Shopper
Rules Don’t Apply
The Lobster
Una
