2018 Oscar Predictions: BEST ACTOR (December Part 2) – Oldman still tops but Kaluuya is coming
Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour) is an unmovable force in Best Actor as he notches another month at the top of the chart.
But the big move and the big news is Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) bursting into the top 5. He’s jumps over Tom Hanks (The Post), Jake Gyllenhall (Stronger) and James Franco (The Disaster Artist) to reach his highest peak yet and it’s thanks to his SAG, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations. He’s a real contender in this race in a possible Best Picture winner.
Someone else rises and it’s definitely worth a look. Denzel Washington (Roman J. Israel, Esq.) was falling off the chart just two weeks ago (at #9 with just 13 points). His film is a critical and box office flop but then the SAG and Globe noms came out and there he was on both, over stronger competition. Or so it seemed they were. The two-time Oscar winner, SAG winner and Globe winner is still in this game.
